The undulating slopes of a former oil palm field were used to build Saujana. The two golf courses, Palm and Bunga Raya, have lakes, ponds, ridges, mounds, and bunkers that all contribute to their undulating fairways. Both of the Saujana courses are year-round championship-condition and equally difficult.
In addition to hosting the esteemed Malaysia Open seven times, the Saujana Palm Course had the distinction of being the first golf course in Asia to hold the first-ever European & Asia PGA Tour tournament. The Palm Course, sometimes known as “the Cobra,” is renowned for having the fastest, trickiest greens in the nation and narrow, palm-lined fairways.
The Cobra was an apparent and apt nickname, carved out of a former oil plantation where cobras were introduced to keep the crop-destroying vermin at away. The Palm Course is not the longest at 7024 yards, but its layout more than makes up for its shortfall. Having strong all-around golf skills is essential for success.
